In the late 1960s, Joyce Byers created the first Byers’ Choice caroler. Disappointed by the bland Christmas decorations of the time, she felt as if they failed to capture the true spirit of the holiday. Inspired by the Christmas carolers from her childhood, Joyce recreated a figure of one of these carolers using clay, wire, and fabric. Her friends immediately fell in love with her creation. Feeling inspired, Joyce to begin making more carolers each Christmas.
Today,The Byers family continues her legacy, handcrafting these beloved figures. Every doll is carefully handmade and painted, making each one truly unique.
